Location:
Prospect,
Carriacou, Grenada W.I. The Caribbee Inn is set in a totally unspoilt area, bordering on a proposed National Park, and spread over nearly 1000 wooded acres. A Country House Hotel in the perfect setting. |
High North
is probably one of the last few remaining, thickly forested slopes in the
Grenadines. In 1784 the Prospect Plantation amounted to 131 acres. The Inn now occupies twelve acres of the original estate from the dirt road to the sea. The pristine white sand beaches of nearby Anse la Roche, and Petit Carenage, are both within easy walking distance, taking in panoramic views , making the northern end of the island everyone's idea of paradise. |
The main Inn, and three more recently built, individual, luxury suites, are perched along the top of a wooded promontory, commanding spectacular views, encompassing uninhabited islands and glorious sunsets. Our own 12 wooded acres remain naturally untamed, thriving with an abundance of wildlife, with many fascinating and rare species of sea birds. Flocks of brown pelicans, blue and other species of herons, sparrow hawks, frigates, egrets, kingfishers, “Big Eye” and many others, including visiting Ospreys. On the land, you can see ramiers, arnis, banana quits, various doves, humming birds, our own free flying Amazonian macaws, and even mocking birds to serenade you at night. Large iguanas, the clever manicou (possum), and many varieties of ground lizards abound, and we have created some interesting trails to explore the beauty of nature, unspoilt but accessible. |
At
the Caribbee you will totally unwind, as time is kept only by the passing sun.
Every night, a house-party atmosphere prevails at the Mahogany Post Bar. Dinner is served by candlelight, in our intimate dining room, furnished with a spattering of English antiques. |
